I read an article by Igor Ovsannykov where he
wrote, “Try to open your mind, see things from a different perspective, help
out others, be thankful for what you have, stop being materialistic, make the
best of every situation, kill sadness, think positive, do what makes you happy,
reach for your goal, stop feeling sorry for yourself, be happy for others
success, cut jealousy, conquer greed and be your best self.” I believe that this gives us much to reflect
on. As we take time this week to quiet
ourselves as we celebrate Holy Week perhaps it is a good time for us to look at
our lives as well. Reflecting on what
Jesus modeled and suffered during the days leading up to his crucifixion gives
us pause for thought.
As the Dalai Lama XIV said, “An open heart is an open mind.” Let us open our minds and
hearts during this Holy Week so that we too may rise in a new way this Easter.
