Holy Saturday is the day to spend time
reflecting on the powerful reality of Jesus’ death.
There is no liturgy on Holy Saturday until
the Easter Vigil. It is important to
keep this day holy and let our “sense” of the mystery of Jesus’ death shape our
reflection as we long to celebrate the Easter gift of Jesus alive, for us and
with us. On Holy Saturday, the Church
waits at the Lord's tomb in prayer, meditating on his Passion and Death and on
his Descent into Hell, and awaiting his Resurrection. Let us celebrate this night as we enkindle
the new Easter fire with hearts full of hope and love!
