Today is
Pentecost Sunday – the birthday of the Church.
On this day we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit given to us
all. Our world is in desperate need of
the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and we all need to pray for the guidance of the
Spirit. As we pray this day let us pray
for our world and for one another that we may be open to the Spirit. Let us pray:
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your
faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be
created. And You shall renew the face of
the earth. O, God, who by the light of
the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the
same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations. Through
Christ Our Lord. Amen.
