In St. Paul’s letter to the Hebrews he exhorts us to, “Strive
for peace with everyone, and for that holiness without which no one will see
the Lord. See to it that no one be deprived of the grace of God.” (Hebrews
12:15)
This verse really calls us to live in unity with one
another. Relationships are so important to
us. Everything we do and say is a result
of being in relationship with others. The
“Golden Rule” reminds us to treat others as we would like to be treated. In our world, today this is over tremendous
importance. As we look at our
relationships is there one that is not at peace? How can we extend peace to others? I believe that it is only possible through
prayer and a willingness to look at the truth of the matter. When we ask God for help we are able to move
in the right direction. Let this new
month bring with it a new spirit of forgiveness and openness to God’s presence
among us.
